NORDIC WALKING, BARCELONA ON WHEELS AND AN EXHIBITION
With the weather starting to improve, it´s becoming easier to enjoy outdoor activities. For those who are unfamiliar with Nordic Walking, the exercise is very different from normal walking since specially designed poles are used, upon which force is applied with each stride. This allows the walker to use more of their entire body and thereby receive fitness building stimulation for the chest, triceps, biceps, shoulders, abs and lats. If you´d like to learn more about this activity, there is an excellent chance to do so through PUMM Barcelona. They offer very interesting alternative methods of seeing Barcelona – usually in more non-traditional ways.
BARCELONA ON WHEELS
If you are a bike lover or skater, you should check out the Wheels Festival taking place this Sunday at the Montjuic Fountains! Starting at 11.00am until 18.00pm, this event promises to be loaded with activities that will unite the Barcelonians who prefer biking or skating as a method of transportation. Some of that activities include a ramp area where you can see professionals demonstrating all kinds of jumps and tricks, a BMX flat area where technical “bike dancing” can be seen, a Track Pump circuit, and also an exhibitors section where the latest developments in the industry can be seen. There is also a section for children with special activities to keep them busy.
If you´re in a situation where there is too much month left at the end of your money, don’t worry – there are many great activities in Barcelona that don’t cost a single cent! One of them, especially if you´re an amateur photographer, is an exhibition called “Seduced by art. Past and present of photography”. It takes places at CaixaForum until 19th of May and will showcase some of the most important British and French photographers´ work, along with some work of international contemporary artists, which includes photos and videos that were specifically created for the exhibition and that have not been seen publicly.
